With EU PPWR recycled-content targets approaching and a plastic tax already biting on low-PCR packaging, the buyer needed certified recycled HDPE at scale. Previous recyclate suppliers had delivered inconsistent MFI between batches — causing line stoppages, rejected runs and an audit trail their compliance team couldn't stand behind.

We started the way we always do: a free sample from Antwerp stock, run on their own line. The Material Test Report matched their process window (MFI and density confirmed per batch, not per datasheet), so they scaled through a blend strategy — 210% recycled content in the first production run, stepping up to 50% as validation data came in. Every delivery shipped with GRS chain-of-custody documentation their auditors could verify directly.

Food contact is the hardest test for recycled resin. The buyer's brand customers were demanding recycled content on food trays, but their QA team had rejected multiple rPET sources over decontamination documentation and intrinsic viscosity variation — and a single non-compliant batch would mean a product recall, not just a production hiccup.

We supplied food-grade rPET with the full compliance file per batch: EFSA-recognised decontamination process documentation, migration test data, and IV specification confirmed on the MTR. QA validated the sample against their recall-risk protocol before any volume commitment. Shipments from our Antwerp warehouse ran on short lead times, letting them switch tray lines gradually rather than betting a full production changeover on day one.
